| Description: Report knowledge and judgment as well as rank students for a grade. Instructions for hand and computer scoring of essay and machine scored tests. Sample data built in. Flags questions needing further discussion in class based on difficulty and levels of thinking. Flags at-risk students by topic and level of thinking.
True Score is enhanced with Rescore (corrects a number of common testing errors in a couple of minutes) and a customizable report writer (one page summary plus supporting tables). These allow teachers to experience an instructional system with good statistical support. The information does not need to be interpreted. It is developed and applied by the teacher in a timely manner (in minutes) to improve student, test question, and course performance (quality grades from accurate scores from valid questions). A unique test quality profile groups questions by mastery, unfinished and discriminating. Compare test profiles to observe changes in course performance (students, questions, and instruction). Use the reports in presentations and publications.
Then use the above tools to compare traditional scoring with scoring for knowledge and judgment. Does it change the class climate from negative to positive? Do students help one another? Do students shift from rote memorizing to practicing the habits of the self-correcting scholar? Do students practice inquiry learning and metacognitive skills as they prepare for a test on which they must report with confidence what they know or can do? Use True Score to document your results.

True Score combines multiple version tests into one analysis when the analysis indexes are created with True Test Writer or by hand. A minimum of about 20 students is needed for meaningful results.
