| Description: Search Google for "Organizer" and you will get over six million leads. Try shopping for personal information manager (PIM) online and you will have over eight hundred titles to choose from. This software niche is very, very hot. Yet, strangely enough, a recent survey shows that after using organizers and PIMs for over 6 months, 50% people abandoned them. And only 15% said that the software really helped them become more efficient. See the problem?
We'll be honest with you. ActionOutline IS NOT for everyone. Yes, ActionOutline is "the best and most useful of the 2 pane outliners" (Duncan MacDonnald), and yes, editors go crazy over it (just read ZDNET, Sunday Times, DirtSmart and BetaBytes). It is also true that the program costs almost forty bucks, while there are hundreds of lookalikes priced 14. 95 USD or even less. But with 95% of ActionOutline buyers using the program every day and almost 100% satisfaction rate, we are not afraid to compete. There is not a single major organizer and PIM review source (that's the ones with at least 1000 visitors a day) that does not have ActionOutline listed. John Buckman has been reviewing organizers since 1994; http://john.redmood.com/organizers.html is the oldest Net organizer/note taker/PIM review resource on the Net. After trying hundreds of titles, the reviewers found no reason to change opinion about ActionOutline: "Action Outline has most elegant GUI (RISC rather than CISC), low RAM use (<3Mb), very stable (has never crashed in about 3 years resident use) … excellent as resident note taker, to-do, and address database for frequent contacts… Fast though simple searching; hyperlinks to files, internet, telephone, email, etc; it lives happily in the system tray."
