| Description: Text Filterer is an advanced desktop full text search tool. It instantly searches for single words, partial words, Boolean word combinations, exact or proximity phrases within hierarchically organized collections of documents. Classic Explorer-like interface allows you to easily switch between found documents viewing their contents in the preview pane, and navigate through the found entries in the text. Search results can also be narrowed by document name, type, location, date/time, size, title, author, etc. You create search queries as filters persistent across sessions. Switching between filters gives you an effective way to explore the contents of a collection. TF supports plain text, Unicode, RTF, XLS, HTML, PDF, and uses MS Word and PowerPoint to index DOC, DOT, WRI, WPD, PPS, PPT and POT files. TF supports many image formats such as BMP, ICO, GIF, TIFF, PNG, JPEG, PSD, WMF and more. TF searches and extracts supported files stored in ZIP, RAR, MHT and CHM archives at any level of nesting. With Excel files, TF provides capability to instantly search multiple files for data by Excel columns and rows presenting search results in one view. TF shows search results in the list view, with documents (or their parts called snippets) as rows, and their attributes as columns much like Windows Explorer does. For a collection of documents containing a series of text snippets, similar across the collection, you can make the snippets units of your searches instead of entire documents. For a collection of documents having distinguishable pieces of data, similar across the collection, you can create user-defined data fields to make TF selectively search inside those pieces of data. Column data of a search result can be saved to a tab-delimited text file for later processing with a spreadsheet or database application. Found documents can be saved into a folder with the option to convert them into plain-text copies. TF has built-in support for working with multilingual texts. |
